Matt Gogel
After a 13-year professional career that included successful stints on both the Nationwide and PGA Tours, Matt Gogel will continue to be a key member of The Golf Channel’s (TGC) television team in 2012. He first joined TGC as an on-course reporter in June 2007.
Matt graduated from the University of Kansas in 1994 where he enjoyed an outstanding collegiate and amateur career. He turned professional soon after and spent three seasons on the Asian PGA Tour. Matt joined the Nationwide Tour in 1996 and quickly collected his first win at the Boise Open. That victory was the first of six Nationwide Tour wins in a four-year stretch.
Matt finished seventh on the 1999 Nationwide Tour money list to earn his promotion to the PGA Tour for the 2000 season. He earned more than $4.5 million in seven seasons on the PGA Tour. In 2002, Matt enjoyed his best season, winning the AT-T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and finishing 57th on the final money list.
Matt is also involved in several Kansas City area community activities and is a partner at Matthews, Gogel and Craddock, Inc., which provides corporate insurance and benefit services.
