fredfunkheadshotFred Funk

Fred Funk is one of the most recognizable names and personalities in golf. He has both impressed and charmed galleries in a professional career spanning more than 20 years.

A native of Takoma Park, Maryland, Fred coached the University of Maryland golf team until 1988. Once Fred began playing a full schedule of the PGA TOUR, there was no turning back. His consistency on the course has earned him the respect and admiration of his peers. Fred is a eight-time PGA Tour winner and has added four Champions Tour titles since turning 50 in 2006.

Fred’s most notable win came at the 2005 Players Championship against arguably the toughest playing field in golf. Fred is also proud to have been a member of the 2003 and 2005 President’s Cup teams, and the 2004 Ryder Cup team.

Aside from being devoted to golf, Fred is a family man before anything else. He and his wife, Sharon, are devoted parents and have their children, Eric, Taylor and Perri, travel with them.

Fred also loves telling ‘war stories’ from his long career, and especially enjoys interacting with his pro-am partners and in corporate entertainment settings.

At 53, Fred looks forward to playing and remaining competitive on both the PGA and Champions Tours. Although he plays a very full schedule, he always finds time for charitable endeavors and speaking engagements.
